In a city of firsts Chapel Street can lay claim to quite a few – the first meeting of the Cooperative Congress and the Trade Union Congress, the first street to be lit by gas and (just about) home to the first free public library and park. More recently there has been dramatic change in the ancient heart of the city and as the rapid pace of change continues our panel will be exploring what makes a place, what the future looks like for Chapel Street and what role businesses and residents play in shaping a place.
Our guests will include City Mayor, Paul Dennett; managing director of Cuckoo, Justine Wright; and Joanne Byrne, chief financial officer, Islington Mill.
We’ll talk people, businesses, residents, buildings and outline what free business support schemes we’ll be offering in the future.
