31st May 2022, 5.30pm – 7pm, The New Oxford, 11 Bexley Square, Salford, M3 6DB.

Free to attend, food and drink provided.

Join us in Central Salford as we explore notions of community and wealth with Salford residents and small business owners.

Whilst Salford continues to develop its approach to community wealth building the Greater Manchester Combined Authority has announced plans to ‘co-design’ a Greater Manchester Community Wealth Hub that will aim to make Greater Manchester the best place in the country to set up and grow co-ops, social enterprises and employee-owned businesses.

At this event our guests will explore what we mean when we talk about community, what constitutes wealth, how we can influence these approaches to local economic development and how we can ensure that local people participate in and benefit from economic growth in Salford.

We’re asking people who live or work in Salford if they’d like to talk informally for 5 minutes about either ‘community’ or ‘wealth’ – this could be what community means to them, a story about their community, about what they think wealth is or what wealth means to them and is designed to be as open as possible.

Our guests include Wilson Nkurunziza, councillor for Pendleton and Charlestown; Dave Lowe, managing director, MC Construction, Amber McCormack, Bee Corner, Linda Robson, proprietor, Deli Lama and Pavol Gajdoš, director, Manchester Bikes.

Places are free but limited. To reserve your free place mail events@thebusinessgroup.org or complete the form below.
